UCSC’s annual student dance production, Random With A Purpose, is a collaboratively student-run and student-created dance production. For 27 years, Random has provided students with the opportunity to choreograph, dance in, and produce a collective performance.

In its 28th year, the theme Prism focuses on seeking out camouflaged perspectives and harmonizing various lenses of reality. Choreographers will reflect on their own identities and communities they inhabit and “bring to light” a facet of that which they turn away from or struggle with. The purpose of this year’s Random is to provide a space for artists who are invested in creating meaningful art and to share that space with our community.
