Mike Van Zandt is a theater graduate student focused primarily on directing and playwriting. He is an army veteran having served from 2014-2018 including a 10-month deployment to South Korea in 2016. In 2023 he received a BA in theater with a dual emphasis in playwriting and directing from UCLA where he was awarded the Judith and Milton Stark Award, and the Amy Archerd Scholarship. His work and research are focused on politically active theater that is anti-war, anti-imperialist and promotes climate activism.
